Three basic options:
1. Do It Yourself
Many groups do their own cooking or bring a cook with them. Supplies are readily available at a variety of good-sized supermarkets within a 15 min. drive of the chateau. There are also two bakeries and a small food coop in the village and large outdoor markets in Chauvigny on Saturday morning and in Poitiers on Sunday morning.
2. Chef a Domicile (in house cook)
Cooks are available who will come in to cook and serve meals at the chateau to the client’s specifications. They typically work for an agreed price plus the cost of food and hire personnel as necessary to help prepare and serve meals. The chateau can provide contact information as necessary.
3. Caterers
Groups can have some or all of their meals catered and the chateau can provide a list of very professional caterers experienced with working at the chateau. They prepare meals offsite and serve them from the chateau kitchen. They can also deliver very tasty fully prepared meals that clients can warm and serve themselves. They normally offer set menus at set prices to choose from or menus can be customized. Prices are agreed in advance and there are no hidden charges. Typically caterers provide plates, flatware, linens and service personnel.
