Planning - The chateau works with an excellent English speaking wedding and event planner based in Poitiers, or couples can employ an outside planner or do the planning themselves. Catering - The chateau can provide a short list of good professional caterers experienced with working at the chateau. They offer set menus at set prices or meals can be customized. Prices are agreed in advance and there are no hidden charges. Typically they provide plates, flatware, linens and service personnel. Caterers often get booked up early during the wedding season. Wine - Wine is usually supplied by the caterer or by our local wine expert who maintains a tasting room and handles a wide variety of wines in a full range of prices. Guests can also provide their own wine. Rentals - Local suppliers are available for rental of tents, extra tables & chairs, linens, lighting, special decorations, etc. Photographers - Couples either choose from a wide range of regional and national photographers or often bring their own. Music - DJ's or performers of a variety of musical genres are readily available. Other Suppliers - Flowers, cakes, fireworks, hairdressers, carriages, etc. are all readily available in the area. Ceremony - Most couples from abroad are legally wed shortly before they arrive and then have a blessing performed at the chateau, often in the gardens. Others have been married in the village church outside the gate but this requires special permission from the priest which can be a lengthy process. Celebrations - The chateau seats up to 50 for dinners and receptions in the dining salon and up to 250 on the terrace. The detached banqueting hall seats 200. For more than 200, tents can be erected at various locations on the grounds. Tables and Chairs - Rectangular wooden tables and chairs are available for up to 50 in chateau. Round 10 person tables w/plastic chairs are available for up to 200 in the Reception Hall. Dishes, Glasses and Tableware - Simple white porcelain dishes with basic wine glasses and tableware are available for up to 50 in chateau. Linens are not included.
